Authorities have destroyed about 4,400 marijuana plants growing on the Pike National forest in central Colorado. The U.S. Forest Service and Douglas County sheriff's office removed the plants near Deckers Wednesday. Authorities say four men were seen fleeing the area as officers arrived. Authorities are investigating a suspected illegal marijuana growing operation in the mountains north of Boulder. Federal forest officials have banned mountain biking in parts of Grand Mesa National Forest because of damage to the forest.
