The fire burning on the north edge of the Sand Dunes National Park grew slightly Wednesday, to just over 6,200 acres. Crews have been cutting, digging and scraping outside the fire border and also back burning to rob the fire of fuel. Helicopters have even been setting small fires... more » -

A wildfire burning in the Great Sand Dunes National Park is now estimated to have grown to 5,300 acres. Park spokeswoman Carol Sperling said Friday the fire isn't threatening park facilities but it has now reached the boundary of the San Isabel National Forest. More crews are expected to... more »
