HBO's "Real Sports" is reporting that scientists have found evidence connecting head injuries in athletes to Lou Gehrig's disease. Some sad news to pass along to our longtime News First 5 viewers. J. Ralph Carter, our weathercaster who started here in the mid 70's, has passed away. J Ralph passed away from Lou Gehrigs Disease (ALS) which is a form of Muscular Dystrophy. He was only 61 years old.... more »
