Senate rejects summer jobs program

As the Senate prepares to vote on extending unemployment insurance for the long-term jobless, it has rejected a summer jobs program for youth. Republicans were unanimously opposed to the $1.3 billion program and several Democrats joined them. Next on today's agenda: a procedural vote on the jobless bill.... more »
