Beetle-infested trees removed in Colorado

The U.S. Forest Service has begun cutting down beetle-infested trees in the Silverthorne area. Crews with chain saws moved into the area Monday and Forest Service officials say the work will continue indefinitely depending on firefighters' availability. Pueblo County work crews are back for the summer, using labor provided by county jail inmates. Started in 2003, the program was discontinued after Sheriff Kirk Taylor was elected and now reinstated. Colorado-based Quiznos expanding rapidly
