The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has ruled out closing Chicago-area shipping locks on a regular basis. It says doing so wouldn't stop dreaded Asian carp from invading the Great Lakes but could damage the local economy. Wildlife officials have begun their hunt for the destructive Asian carp in Chicago-area waterways. Officials already have DNA evidence that suggests the fish has made it past the area's electric fish barriers. Now, they're looking for actual fish.
