Senators push for confidential alcohol treatment at Ft. Carson

Leaders are hoping a new program, beginning Monday at Fort Carson, will break the connection between alcohol and violent crimes. Authorities say the son of Boulder's first prosecutor to work on the JonBenet Ramsey case has died of an alcohol and drug overdose at a Fort Collins college party. Hospitalized doctor accused of stabbing nurse

Police say a doctor who was hospitalized is suspected of stabbing a nurse and trying to leave the hospital. Lone Tree police accuse 53-year-old Grady Michael Holder of asking a nurse into his room at Sky Ridge Medical Center Saturday night and stabbing her in her upper arm. ... more » -

Drunk driving enforcement could bear the brunt of the dwindling state budget. The Law Enforcement Assistance Fund (LEAF), which helps local police departments and sheriff's offices to pay overtime and other costs associated with DUI checkpoints, has been targeted for cuts.
