Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo returns to Colorado Springs for 78th time

Posted: Updated:

The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is back for the 78th time at the Norris-Penrose Event Center this week.

The professional rodeo event brings thousands of people from all over the state to watch 32 champion cowboys and cowgirls compete in seven standard events. The events include bareback, saddle bronc, bull riding, tie-riding roping, steer wrestling, team roping, and barrel racing.

The rodeo has been a Colorado Springs tradition since 1937. Visitors can enjoy some serious rodeo action and fun for all, while paying tribute to local military and their families, according to the event page.

The event will kick off with a parade in downtown Colorado Springs on Tuesday, July 10. Tejon Street from Cache La Poudre to Vermijo starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday night. Access along Colorado Ave will be blocked as well, so people are asked to plan accordingly.

The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo days will start on July 11 and go until July 14. For more information and tickets, click here
