Man in custody following standoff with multiple agencies in Pueblo County

A man has been taken into custody after a standoff with multiple agencies following reports of him firing shots at cars on I-25 Monday evening.

Multiple agencies responded to the reports on I-25 near mile marker 119 around 5 p.m. Police said a citizen followed the man off the highway at exit 77, where a "chase" ensued. 

The chase ended on Abbey Road when the suspect rolled his car, according to police. Pueblo County SWAT also responded to the scene, where the man was reportedly armed and barricaded in his car. 

State Trooper Josh Lewis, told News 5 that they had to assume the man was armed and dangerous. Police said the suspect sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken into custody around 8 p.m.

According to an officer on scene, the situation could be related to a domestic incident but that remains under investigation. 

Exit 77 is closed on I-25 was closed during the incident.
