Fremont County Sheriff's deputy arrested on multiple charges

A Fremont County Sheriff's deputy has been arrested following an investigation by the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office.

According to a release, 30-year-old Christopher Pape of Canon City has been arrested on multiple charges. There is little information available on what prompted the initial investigation.

Pape is being held on the following charges:

  • Attempt to Influence a Public Servant
  • Forgery of a Public Record
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence - Destruction
  • Theft
  • First Degree Official Misconduct 
  • First Degree Official Misconduct
  • Abuse of Public Records - False Entry

No additional information is being released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
