Choi posted a 79 (+7) in the first round of the 4A Girls Golf State Championship, Monday. She is in a 3-way tie for the lead with Jessica Zapf of Windsor and Lauren Lehigh of Loveland.

The Country Club of Colorado played tough on the first day despite the benign conditions as no one posted a score under par.

Coronado was the low team of the day for those in Southern Colorado, posting a +76. Glenwood Springs leads the team competition after day one at +47.

The second and final day begins bright and early for the team and individual titles.
