El Paso County Sheriff Bill Elder posted on Facebook that NBC News accompanied deputies, SWAT and DEA agents as they busted three illegal marijuana grows in the county Tuesday.
Elder said in his post that deputies seized more nearly 400 plants, 75 pounds of refined marijuana and numerous guns. He said one arrest was made in the busts and "additional arrests are pending."
Elder said the marijuana was meant to go to Florida, not Colorado.
He said the raids will be featured on the Today Show and NBC Nightly News next Monday, which you can catch on KOAA 5.
The man suspected of murdering Kelsie Schelling appeared in court on Thursday for his preliminary hearing. Schelling hasn't been seen in more than five years, last known to be with her ex-boyfriend Donthe Lucas. Attorneys spent the full day pouring over the evidence until 5 p.m. and the hearing will continue for a second day on Friday at 9:30 a.m.
