Pueblo Police warn of scam targeting elderly women who live alone

Posted: Updated:
PUEBLO -

Pueblo Police have received multiple reports of a scam that targets elderly women who live alone.

Police said a female suspect approaches elderly women's homes and poses as a healthcare representative to assess whether they live alone or not. While the person is in the home, the suspect steals items and gathers personal information to use for future criminal activity.

Police said there are at least two suspects involved. In one incident, the suspect fled the scene in a "red car" but police were unable to obtain any additional details.

If you have any information that could help officers apprehend the suspects, call Pueblo Police at (719) 553-2502.
