Douglas County Deputy added to National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial

The 30th Annual 'United By Light' candlelight vigil is being held to honor fallen officers throughout the country, including those lost in Colorado.

During the ceremony, fallen officers will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. Sunday. Among those names, fallen Douglas County Deputy Zackari Parrish, who was killed in the line of duty on December 31, 2017.

According to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, more than 30,000 officers, supporters, and survivors will join in on the vigil.

The event starts National Police Week 2018 which will end on Saturday, May 19. 

All people are encouraged to show their support by watching the live stream or by lighting a candle in honor of a lost law enforcement officer. A donation allows people to light a candle with a personalized message in honor of a fallen officer.
