PUEBLO -

Pueblo Police were called when a 6-year old boy showed up at a home in the 2200 block of North Drive around 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

The people in the home contacted police after the young boy showed up in pajamas and started knocking on their front door. The child told police he traveled from Pueblo to Trinidad with his mother to go to a carnival.

The 6-year old told police he didn't know where he was staying, as officers worked to contact his mother. According to Pueblo Police, as of Saturday afternoon the boy is safe and back at home.

Police said he was living with a foster family and was expecting a visit from his birth mother when he wandered off.

He has been since reunited with his foster parents.
