Fallen Colorado soldier returns home

Army Spc. Gabriel D. Conde died April 30th in the Tagab District of Afghanistan.

The 22-year-old's body arrived back in Colorado on Friday. His family has lived in Berthoud since 2009.

A procession from the Northern Colorado Regional Airport began around 10 a.m. Friday morning and carried the soldier's body through Berthoud to Longmont, where his funeral will be held Saturday.

People lined the streets to pay their respects as the procession traveled south.

Conde's funeral will be held Saturday, 5/12 at the Life Bridge Christian Church in Longmont. He will be buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Monday.

In an obituary posted online, Conde's family said he was "fiercely loved" by many people.
