Adaptive veterans ready to run Spartan Race

Spartan Race comes to Fort Carson this weekend as runners from across the country will descend on Southern Colorado to battle this tough test and hope to come out victorious.

Among them are Army veterans, Earl Granville and Jonathan Lopez and Marine Corps veteran, Andrew Einstein. As adaptive runners themselves, they'll lead other athletes through the course this weekend.

The Spartan Race events begin Saturday morning at 7:30 and run through the afternoon. All participants must enter Fort Carson at Gate 6, off Highway 115.

Saturday, May 5

7:30 a.m. - Elite "Super" Race

8:00 a.m. - Open "Super" Race

9:00 a.m. - Kids Race

Sunday, May 6

7:30 a.m. - Elite "Sprint" Race

8:00 a.m. - Open "Sprint" Race

9:00 a.m. - Kids Race
