The Pueblo Zoo announced it will offer half-price admission to school children May 7 through May 11 in anticipation of the possible teacher strike planned for Monday.
The zoo said the deal will be offered for students at all Pueblo school districts.
On Thursday, the Pueblo Education Association rejected a proposal from District 60 to avoid the strike. Teachers are threatening to walk out next Monday after the Pueblo D60 School Board rejected a third party fact finder's recommendation to give teachers a two percent cost of living raise.
The zoo will be open Monday through Saturday next week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday at 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
