Storm Safe on the plains: Swink Elementary

Posted: Updated:

Storm Safe is heading to the plains for the last stretch of the school year.  Meteorologist Jessica Van Meter stopped at Swink Elementary, which is out in Otero County.

She talked with about 45 impressive 3rd and 4th graders about all of the severe weather we see here in Colorado and how to stay safe no matter what Mother Nature does.

The students were fantastic participants, eager to answer Jessica’s questions and then ask plenty of their own about the blizzards, floods, tornadoes, and severe thunderstorms we see in our state.

The Storm Safe Tour of the Plains continues next week with a stop in Rocky Ford.
