Woman facing Attempted First Degree Murder charges after shooting

Posted: Updated:

A 60-year old woman is facing First Degree Attempted Murder charges after an argument in a home in the 3600 block of Summer Breeze Drive early on Sunday morning.

Police were called to the home at about 3:00 a.m. about an argument taking place between Melva Moore and an unidentified man inside the house. Moore fired one shot at the man inside the home and when he attempted to leave in his car, she fired more shots at the man.

As he was trying to leave, he accidentally put the car into reverse, thinking that it was in drive. His car plowed into the corner of the home and he received minor injuries from the falling debris. Even though several shots were fired at him, he was not injured by any of them.

Melva Moore was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
