If you haven't heard the story of Toby the cat, it's a sad one, but has a happy ending that'll warm your heart.
Toby was given to another family when his family realized they didn't want him anymore. But when Toby realized he missed his family, he traveled 12 miles back to his home, only to be rejected. The family brought Toby to a local shelter to be euthanized, I know, just awful.
Fortunately, the shelter contacted the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Wake County, N.C. The shelter hoped the SPCA could give Toby a second chance at a loving home.
Less than two weeks later, great news, Toby was adopted by a family who will give him his forever home. The lonely feline now has three new siblings, a cat sibling, two humans, and a cat-savvy mom to give him the home he deserves.
Toby's story prompted the SPCA to hold a 2018 Walk and Woofstock event in an effort to make a difference for other homeless pets. To make a donation to the cause, click here.
