UCCS men's basketball falls to Colorado Christian 97-87

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team fell on the road to Colorado Christian, 97-87, Saturday afternoon in an RMAC game.

The home standing Cougars used a 10-0 run mid-way through the second half to extend a five-point lead to a decisive 15-point advantage en route to their third win of the season.

UCCS was led Elijah Ross, who tallied a game-high 29 points after going 10 of 16 from the field that included 5 of 7 from beyond the arc. The junior also went a perfect 4 of 4 at the line. Ross stuffed the stat sheet with his five assists, two steals, and one blocked shot.

Fellow guard Brandon Malone chipped in 16 points on a 6 of 8 game as Padiet Wang added 12 points.

Ross, along with Jonathan Barnes, led the Moutain Lions with six rebounds.

The setback puts UCCS at 4-7 overall while slipping to 1-4 in conference play. The team heads to Golden tomorrow afternoon when the face No. 6-ranked Colorado School of Mines at 3 p.m.
