Thursday Evening Weather: Isolated Snow Tonight, Fire Danger Tomorrow

Posted: Updated:

It's been a bitterly cold day and wind gusts over 20-30 mph have only made it a more biting cold. A few isolated areas of snow tonight with accumulations, if any, adding up to about 1-3". The best chance for that will be around the Palmer Divide, Pikes Peak, and the southern I-25 corridor including the Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Clouds elsewhere and warmer temperatures with lows in the 20's. It won't be as cold, but the winds will still make it feel colder.

Conditions improve as we head towards the weekend. Highs will be back in the 50's for Friday with improving skies. Winds will still be strong at times and that could mean some fire danger concerns. We're looking good by the weekend with sunny skies, calmer winds, and highs in the 50's and 60's. Quiet weather continues into the first half of the new work and school week. Highs will be in the 50's with mainly sunny skies. Thursday will bring our next chance for a cool down and any potential moisture.
