Tom Kackley joined News 5 in May 2016 as a television newscast producer. In mid-2017, he was moved to a new role as a digital content producer.
Tom previously worked at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri before moving to Colorado Springs. During his work in Columbia, Tom worked as a television producer and reporter as well as a digital content producer for KOMU.com and Newsy.
He also has a background in freelance sports production, working on productions that have aired on ESPN, Fox Sports 1 and other regional networks in varying roles.
Tom graduated from the University of Missouri in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. He was born and raised in the Kansas City area.
Tom wanted to move to Colorado ever since he first visited the state as a child. He loves almost everything about his new home, especially the skiing, hiking, and the incredible fall colors across our part of the state in September and October.
When he's not at work, on a ski slope or leaf peeping, he's usually cheering on his Mizzou Tigers, Kansas City Royals, or Kansas City Chiefs. He's excited to explore our beautiful state and cover important issues in our community.
