Colorado Springs man pleads guilty after throwing child into traffic

Posted: Updated:

A Colorado Springs man has plead guilty today, after throwing a two-year old boy out of his car into traffic in July. 30-year old Bryant Hickcox plead guilty to Second Degree Assault, and could be facing 10-16 years in prison.

The young boy is Hickcox's cousin, who he reportedly threw out of his car into busy traffic. Police said he did suffer minor injuries from the incident.

The Colorado Springs Police arrested Hickcox after a motorist spotted the child, near the intersection at Academy Blvd and Airport Rd in early July. According to the police, drivers had to swerve on the road to avoid hitting the child.

Witnesses detained Hickcox after seeing the child, until officers arrived on scene. He was held in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center accused of attempted murder.

Police have yet to comment on what led up to the incident, Hickcox will be sentenced in February.
