Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's Electric Safari will open Friday

Posted: Updated:

The illuminating Christmas celebration Electric Safari at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo starts Friday. Christmas is quickly approaching, so the zoo's holiday tradition will start Friday night, and run for 20 nights until January.

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has over 85 unique light sculptures, 50 acres of lights and multiple species of wild animals. The event has been celebrating the holiday spirit for 27 years running.

Select indoor and outdoor exhibits will be open, including the giraffe barn, Encounter Africa, Rocky Mountain Wild (except grizzly bears), Asian Highlands, Monkey Pavilion, Scutes Family Gallery, The Loft and Australia Walkabout.

There will be a number of warming fires throughout the Zoo for guests to stop and warm up.

The Electric Safari will open Friday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The event is free for Zoo members, and starts at $9.75 for adults and decreases for seniors, children and military.
