Driver killed in I-25 crash identified

Posted: Updated:

Alcohol and speed are being considered factors in a deadly crash on I-25 Saturday night near Pueblo.

The wreck was reported at 5:10 p.m. near mile marker 106. State troopers said a sedan in the southbound lanes lost control and veered off the road, eventually rolling. The driver, 18-year-old Randy Derossett of Pueblo, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

There were two other girls in the car, both under the age of 18 and also not wearing seatbelts. One was thrown from the vehicle and is hospitalized in serious condition. The condition of the third person is unknown, troopers say she also was taken to the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
