Pueblo Sheriff's office ditch their razors to raise money

Posted: Updated:

About 80 Pueblo County Sheriff's employees ditched their razors for the month of November, and in doing so, the office was able to raise nearly $2,000 for local families in need.

For the third year in a row, Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor allowed his employees to grow out their beards in support of the Heart of the Badge program's annual Beards, Badges, and Baskets fundraiser.  Employees who participated made donations of at least $25. All money will go toward buying gift cards for local families.

The Heart of the Badge program was started by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office to raise money to help families in need in Pueblo County. The program hosts different fundraisers throughout the year with the Beards, Badges and Baskets becoming their top fundraising event.
