City of Colorado Springs announces 2018 2C projects

Posted: Updated:

The city of Colorado Springs says another 223 lane miles will be paved in 2018 with money from voter-approved 2C.

The new lanes will bring the three year total for paving to 694 lanes. The city said they are trending ahead of schedule to reach the overall goal of 1,000 lane miles over the five-year life of the ballot initiative.

If there are left over funds, that money will be applied to paving future years. Click here to take a look at the 2018 projects.

The city said that the list was created with help from departments within the city, that also includes Colorado Springs Utilities and El Paso County. The projects can change as needed.

2C revenues have continued to surpass 2016 revenues. Click here for more information on 2C projects. The city as also released an interactive map of all public works projects in 2017.

To help people know where the construction zones are, the city has partnered with Waze to share data and information. The free crowd sourced navigation app is just one way that the city is working to communicate where the construction zones will be.
