Realtor.com ranks Colorado Springs eighth in list of top housing markets

Posted: Updated:

Realtor.com has released it's projections for the top housing markets in the U.S for 2018, with Colorado Springs coming in at number eight.

Experts said a lack of available housing in Denver and Douglas County is pushing people to buy homes in Colorado Springs.

The high ranking may not be good news for all though.  With a hot market, experts also say that escalating prices and affordability could become a real concern, especially with buyers in the two fifty and below range.

''Escalating prices, that's definitely becoming a concern, the affordability for people especially in the two fifty and below range. Right now, a listing in the two fifty and below range, right now we're seeing a lot of these being multiple offers and more times than not, they're cash buyers too,'' said realtor Eddie Hurt.

At number eight, Colorado Springs comes in just behind Charlotte, N.C.at number seven and just in front of Nashville, Tenn. at number nine.
