PUEBLO -

19-year old Desiree Lucas was in court Monday on charges of  Felony Menacing with a deadly weapon and Third Degree Assault.

According to Lucas' arrest affidavit, a Pueblo police officer was dispatched to the area of 1199 W Mesa Lake Ave on reports of a female chasing another female with a knife.

Police say, one woman identified herself as 18-year old Michaela Sniff, who said her boyfriend's sister 19-year old Desiree Lucas chased her with a knife down the street.

Sniff told police she was inside the residence on W Mesa Lake Ave with Lucas' mother 49-year old Sara Lucas, when Lucas walked in. According to court documents, Sniff heard Lucas and her mother in the other room arguing. Sniff told police she heard Sara tell Lucas "you're not going to do this again," when she saw Lucas had a knife.

Sniff said she then ran out of the house when Lucas began chasing her, west on Mesa Ave towards Lake Ave. Court documents say Lucas was saying "I'm going to get her," while chasing Sniff with the weapon.

Sniff told police she believed that if Lucas caught her she would've stabbed her.

However, they had been good friends in the past and never encountered a problem before. This was the second disturbance between the two in the same day, reportedly earlier in the day Lucas began hitting Sniff in the head with closed fists while Sniff was in a car.

Court documents say, Lucas also had a knife in the earlier incident but an unknown male was able to get it out of her hand before causing any further damage. The responding officer said he did see Sniff had a black eye, she explained this was due to Lucas hitting her in the face with a phone.

Sniff's had been staying at the Lucas residence, while her boyfriend Dashawn Lucas is in jail for robbery.

Lucas bond was set at $5,000 in cash. Her next court appearance is set for Dec 11 at 9:30 a.m.
