Four people detained in connection to multiple shots fired calls

Posted: Updated:

Colorado Springs Police said four people surrendered to police near Michigan Ave.and University Drive hours after officers first responded to the area.

Police said they received at least five shots fired reports around Colorado Springs Friday morning.  Police said callers reported four people in a four door pick up truck shot in the air and drive away. Police said they also received a call about someone in a similar vehicle flashing a weapon while driving on I-25.

Police said no one was hurt in these prior incidents.

Officers said they found a truck matching those earlier descriptions near Michigan Ave. and University Drive Friday around 4:30 p.m. Police said four people got out of the truck and ran into a nearby apartment.

Police said at least one person refused to come out when police came to the apartment. The last person inside the house surrendered to police around 6:30 p.m.

Police said they were "slow to come out of the apartment" but officers said they are no longer classifying it as a standoff.

Police said they detained four suspects and recovered multiple pistols and a rifle.
