After several months of being closed off to the hiking public, the infamous Manitou Incline is back open!

While the grand re-opening is set for Friday, December 1, the company doing repairs has cleared out all barriers, allowing people to burn some calories.

The most recent closure began in August was Phase 3 of a $2 million renovation project intended to make the trail safer.

For the past three months workers have been hard at work in replacing damaged retaining walls, adding and replacing drains, stabilizing parts of the slope around the trail, anchoring railroad ties, and cleaning up debris.

The 'Incline Friends' will be hosting an opening ceremony at the bottom of the incline on December 1st at 8:00 a.m.
