KOAA Athlete of the Week: Anthony Roberson, Palmer Ridge receiver

Posted: Updated:
MONTROSE (AP) -

Our KOAA News5 Athlete of the Week is Anthony Roberson II of Palmer Ridge.

The sophomore do it all back for the Bears has 12 touchdowns on the season - one on defense with a pick six - and averages 115 yards a game for the high octane offense.

Roberson has been playing football since the first grade with quarterback Ty Evans and believes their friendship translates to the field on game day.

"We've gotten a pretty good connection this season and I feel like every time we step on the field, we know what's going down," Roberson said. "We know where we will be on the field."

"He's got a very high football IQ and he does it all for his teammates," said head coach Tom Pulford. "I think anytime you have someone who possess those qualities and they are doing it for that reason and you know your 'why,' then you have the chance to do some special things out there."

#2 Palmer Ridge hosts #6 Palisade in the 3A semifinals at Don Breese Stadium, Saturday at 1pm.
