How to donate a turkey this holiday season

Posted: Updated:
COLORADO SPRINGS -

News 5 covered a story Monday about a Turkey shortage for those in need, but here is a way to help. The Care and Share Food Bank's Annual Turkey Drive, Take a Turkey to Work Day is this Friday.

Friday the Care and Share team members and volunteers will be collecting frozen turkey donations from 6 a.m to 6 p.m. There are a few different ways to participate, you can encourage your coworkers to participate this week, and have a staff member drop off the donations on Friday.

You can donate a frozen turkey, or two. You can also donate online at careandshare.org/turkey. A $10 donation will allow Care and Share to reserve one turkey this holiday season.

This year's goal is to collect 5,000 frozen turkey donations by the end of Nov 17th.

If you live in Pueblo, and would like to participate you can drop off frozen turkey donations at Care and Share's Food Bank's Pueblo distribution center at 100 Greenhorn Drive.

You can drop off your Turkey donations at four King Soopers locations around Colorado Springs:

  • 9225 N Union Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO 80920
  • 7915 Constitution Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80951
