Public invited to give feedback on Colorado Springs Master Bike Plan

Posted: Updated:
COLORADO SPRINGS -

The City of Colorado Springs is inviting the public to give feedback on the city's draft of the new Bicycle Master Plan. The city says the plan was designed to enhance safety, integration and accessibility for bikers throughout Colorado Springs.

The plan serves to inform and educate the general public, government staff, and elected officials on the current bike infrastructure and the potential of bicycling in the city.

The city says, the public's input on the draft plan will help to confirm the plan best meets the community needs and desires, as the plan will serve the community well into the future.

“Providing citizens with the facilities they require to get where they need and want to go safety is a core function of local government.  This applies for all citizens, regardless of their chosen mode of transportation. The Bicycle Master Plan will establish a vision and roadmap for how Colorado Springs can provide a level of programming and bike infrastructure across the entire city that accommodates the range of users who want/need to bicycle,” said Kate Brady bicycle planner for the City of Colorado Springs.

If you plan to attend the event, you can learn more about how earlier comments have been incorporated into the plan by visiting https://coloradosprings.gov/bikeplan

The meeting will be at the City Administration Building at 30 S Nevada Ave, Suite 102 on Nov 14 from 5-7 p.m.

After the meeting, the final presentation of the Bicycle Master Plan will be presented to City Council for approval in 2018.
