Gardner on Moore: 'He should step aside if the allegations are true'

Posted: Updated:

Senator Cory Gardner (R-Colorado), the chair of the National Republican Senatorial committee says Alabama senatorial candidate Roy Moore should step aside if allegations of sexual misconduct are true.

'These are incredibly disturbing allegations, and so we've severed, the national republican senatorial committee has severed its financial co-operations with him and I hope the people of Alabama will encourage him to make that decision,' said Gardner.

Many have encouraged former Alabama Attorney General and appointed U.S. Senator Luther Strange as a possible write-in candidate for the special election in December.

'Well look, I don't think that's going to happen, I think Luther has said no, but it's something that the people of Alabama need to take seriously to find someone who can take this seat,' said Gardner.
