Pueblo Police looking for truck driver after motorcycle crash

Posted: Updated:
PUEBLO -

A woman riding a motorcycle in Pueblo was hurt Saturday evening while trying to avoid hitting a truck at the intersection of Elizabeth and 13th Street.

Pueblo Police said the woman laid her bike down to avoid hitting the truck that was driving in the center lane. Witnesses told police that the truck cut her off, forcing her to take action to avoid a collision.

Police officers confirm to News 5 that the rider, Stacy Cooper was not wearing protective gear and said she suffered serious head injuries. She was rushed to Parkview Hospital for surgery immediately after the incident.

The truck did not stay at the scene. Police said it is a mid-to-late 70s pickup truck that is light-colored on the top with a faded green middle and white along the bottom.

Officers are actively looking for the driver, saying charges may be filed. If you have any information that can help in the investigation, you are asked to call Pueblo Police or Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP (7867). You can also click here to leave a tip online.
