66-year old man killed after being hit by a car while chasing his dog

EL PASO COUNTY -

A 66-year old man was killed after witnesses say, they saw him chase his dog into the street where he was struck by a car. Colorado State Patrol said the call came in around 3:45 p.m. Saturday, involving an auto vs. pedestrian accident. 

The accident happened in the 4300 block of Loomis Ave in Stratmoor Hills, witnesses say they saw the man run after his dog. The victim was then struck by a moving vehicle, where he was pronounced dead shortly after, CSP said.

There is no word on the dog, or the condition of the driver. The incident is currently under investigation, there will be more information available when the accident report is released.
