New England Patriots to practice at Air Force Academy

Posted: Updated:
COLORADO SPRINGS -

The New England Patriots are moving to Colorado Springs, temporarily. Instead of flying back to Massachusetts following their Sunday game with the Denver Broncos, the Patriots will bus south to the Air Force Academy.

New England will practice and stay at the Academy for three days before heading to their next game in Mexico City, where they will take on the Raiders in week 11.

The Academy and Mexico City are close to the same elevation. The three outdoor fields and the indoor facility provide plenty of space at the Academy for the team squads to practice.

The team approached the Academy months ago to work on a deal that fit everyone's schedule. There's no word yet on whether practices will be open to the public.
