El Paso County voters Tuesday appear to have approved Question 5B, allowing widening of the I-25 "gap" between Monument and Castle Rock to be added to the list of projects funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) one-cent sales tax.

$10 million in PPRTA revenue will be set aside as part of the local commitment to funding the widening project and encouraging Federal and state leaders to begin construction sooner.

As of 10:40 p.m. Tuesday night, the 'yes' votes have a lead of 66% (89,911) of votes to 34% against (46,499).

All results are not final at this time until certified by the Secretary of State.
