PARKER -

A man is dead after a shootout with police in Parker Saturday night.

Our partners at 9News Denver reports the suspect has been identified as 35-year old Michael Marin, who was wanted for three fast food robberies in Colorado.

Parker police said no officers were hurt in the shooting that happened in the 10800 block of 20 Mile Road. It started with a call of a suspicious person knocking on doors in that area of Parker at about 9:45 p.m.

Officers were given a description of the suspect and the vehicle, which came back as a stolen car out of Mesa County. Police said they also learned there was a gun safe visible in the car.

Witnesses reported that the man was shot while running from police, officers have not yet confirmed that.

The suspect was taken to the hospital after the shooting where he later died. Police have said they don't know why he was knocking on doors in the first place.

There were three officers involved in the incident, they all have been placed on routine administrative leave.
