Multiple crashes snarl traffic across Colorado Springs

Posted: Updated:
COLORADO SPRINGS -

Multiple crashes were reported across Colorado Springs and El Paso County Tuesday morning as slick roads created dangerous driving conditions.

Both directions of Highway 115 were blocked between Barrett Road and Titus Boulevard, after a crash involving multiple cars near Little Turkey Creek Road. One car rolled over, but there are no serious injuries. Traffic is moving slowly through the area due to icy conditions and emergency personnel working the scene.

All lanes of northbound I-25 at the Rockrimmon Boulevard exit were closed because of multiple wrecks. It's unclear how serious any injuries are. The interstate reopened just before 5:30 a.m.

Earlier in the morning Tuesday a crash involving multiple cars, including a semi, shut down southbound I-25 at Bijou Street. That crash has since been cleared, and the interstate is open in the area.

CSPD is urging drivers to take it slow this morning because of the bad road conditions. CSPD is on Accident Alert Status.
