CANON CITY -

The Fremont County Department of Public Health & Environment is keeping a close eye on the Burger King in Canon City.

Its after someone captured video of an employee touching his hands to his face, coughing into his hands, and wiping his hands on his clothing.

The employee also picks up food and eats it.

Not once did he wash his hands after doing these things.

The health department tells us these are all violations and something that could cause someone to get sick.

Sid Darden, Fremont County environmental health officer, said, The fact that your hands aren't clean, even though you're not actually preparing food, you're still handling bags and potentially have some contact with something like french fries or whatever.

News 5 was told that the employee is still working at the Burger King.

Any consequences will be up to Burger King management.

The fast food place was going to get a routine inspection Monday afternoon.
