Hunger Games: Improv Laff Off!
Stargazer’s Theater will host Hunger Games: Improv Laff Off this Saturday night. The laughs start at 7:30 pm with three Colorado Springs Improv groups taking the stage for a family friendly night of improv comedy. Tickets will be $10 for adults at the door or online. In addition to the show there will also be more than $1,500 worth of raffle prizes. All proceeds from the night will go to Care & Share to help with the holidays. Veteran’s Day Parade
The Colorado Springs Veteran’s Day Parade will take place this Saturday. The theme of the parade to honor our veterans will be Celebrating Military Milestones. All veterans are welcome and the parade is totally free for spectators. The parade starts at 9:30 am and will head south on Tejon St from St. Vrain to Vermijo. You can find more information here.
Garden of the Gods Full Moon Hike
If you’ve ever thought about hiking in the moonlight but didn’t want to go alone, this weekend is your chance! The Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center is hosting a Full Moon Hike this Saturday at 6:30 pm. The hike will last for about an hour and then there will be cookies and hot cocoa at the Visitor’s Center. Admission is $5 per adults or $10 per family. Find more information here.
Bear Creek Nature Center will have their annual 3k Bear Run on Saturday. It’s a fun walk/run event with all participants wearing bear costumes to make things interesting. The run begins at 10 am and will follow the nature trails and regional trail at Bear Creek Regional Park. Arrive by 9:30 am to check in and enjoy the pre-race festivities. A bill was recently introduced into the Colorado Senate that aims to prohibit public school teachers' ability to go on strike.
A Colorado woman is facing a $500 fine for a free apple that was given to her on a Delta flight. Crystal Tadlock was on her way home from Paris, when she said she was given an apple from a flight attendant. "The violation is for one apple," said Tadlock.
Colorado Springs Police have confirmed one person is dead following a shooting in the 5100 block of Airport Road Sunday night. Police said one person has died, and another has been transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
An investigation is underway after a man who was lying on a highway in southwest Colorado was run over and killed. Capt. Adrian Driscoll with the Colorado State Patrol tells The Durango Herald that 43-year-old Mark Deuel was lying in the middle of U.S. Highway 160 when he was struck early Saturday morning.
