Here are a few events going on for the first weekend of November.

Hunger Games: Improv Laff Off!

Stargazer’s Theater will host Hunger Games: Improv Laff Off this Saturday night. The laughs start at 7:30 pm with three Colorado Springs Improv groups taking the stage for a family friendly night of improv comedy. Tickets will be $10 for adults at the door or online. In addition to the show there will also be more than $1,500 worth of raffle prizes. All proceeds from the night will go to Care & Share to help with the holidays. Veteran’s Day Parade

The Colorado Springs Veteran’s Day Parade will take place this Saturday. The theme of the parade to honor our veterans will be Celebrating Military Milestones. All veterans are welcome and the parade is totally free for spectators. The parade starts at 9:30 am and will head south on Tejon St from St. Vrain to Vermijo. You can find more information here.

Garden of the Gods Full Moon Hike

If you’ve ever thought about hiking in the moonlight but didn’t want to go alone, this weekend is your chance! The Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center is hosting a Full Moon Hike this Saturday at 6:30 pm. The hike will last for about an hour and then there will be cookies and hot cocoa at the Visitor’s Center. Admission is $5 per adults or $10 per family. Find more information here.

Bear Run

Bear Creek Nature Center will have their annual 3k Bear Run on Saturday. It’s a fun walk/run event with all participants wearing bear costumes to make things interesting. The run begins at 10 am and will follow the nature trails and regional trail at Bear Creek Regional Park. Arrive by 9:30 am to check in and enjoy the pre-race festivities. A costume contest and vendor stations start at 9:15 am. Registration runs between $10 and $60. Register and find more information here.

    Deputies from the Fremont County Sheriff's Office say a body has been found near the Arkansas River in the Texas Creek area. The discovery was made around sunset at 5 p.m. when investigators responded. It is unclear if the body belongs to a man or woman or any other identifying information.

    NEW YORK (AP) - Malcolm Young, the rhythm guitarist and guiding force behind the Australian hard rock band AC/DC, has died. He was 64. AC/DC announced the death on their official Facebook page and website Saturday.
