News5 Athlete of the Week: TJ Davis, Widefield quarterback

Posted: Updated:
WIDEFIELD -

Our KOAA News5 Athlete of the Week is TJ Davis of Widefield.

The senior quarterback has thrown and rushed for more than 1,700 yards thru seven games this season and has the Gladiators at 5-2.

Head Coach Nick Olney said he has the green light whenever we wants to go and that no play is broken when Davis wants to scramble.

Davis knows he can score at will but always tries to involve his teammates as much as he can.

"I like to get my teammates involved and I think it's more professional as a quarterback," Davis said. "I like to throw touchdowns a lot but on my feet I like to run too."

Widefield hosts Pueblo Centennial on Thursday night.
