Air Force have drive to get off schnide

Posted: Updated:

The effort is still there. The drive is still there. The wins are not there, yet.

Air Force football is still looking for that second win of the season, hoping it comes Saturday vs. UNLV at Falcon Stadium.

AFA (1-4) came agonizingly close to upsetting Navy last week until the Midshipmen scored a last second touchdown to recapture the lead and the win. The Falcons are still winless in Mountain West play and their only win came at the hands of FCS foe VMI in week one.

Still, head coach Troy Calhoun said the drive to win and improve is still there.

"We have to be better at practice and we have plenty of drive and loads of grit and toughness and will power," said Calhoun, Tuesday afternoon.

"We embrace that possibility that we haven't arrived yet and that we still have a lot of season left. We have a lot of growing to do as a team," said linebacker Grant Ross.
