COLORADO SPRINGS -

As winter weather approaches, if you're struggling to pay your rising utility bills there are ways that you can get help!

If you need a little extra assistance getting through the season, there there are programs in Colorado Springs and Pueblo that can help if you're having trouble making ends meet.

Colorado Springs Utilities offers budget billing, which spreads your payments out evenly throughout the year. You can also schedule your payment date, so it's easy to pick a date after you've been paid.

Colorado Springs Utilities Project COPE also helps customers who are having trouble paying their bills. Last year they helped almost 2500 households!
The program is not income dependent. Instead it's open to anyone who may find themselves in a position where they just can't make ends meet.
To apply simply dial 2-1-1. For more information on how to apply you can visit their website at www.projectcopecs.org.

In Pueblo, there's the Black Hills Energy Assistance Program, which provides financial assistance to people with low-incomes. For more info visit www.blackhillsenergy.com. To apply click here

Finally LEAP applications open November 1st. LEAP is a federally funded program that helps Colorado families with a portion of their heating costs. You can find that information here
