DENVER -

The ATF Denver Division has announced a third man has been charged in a theft of firearms that occurred at Cabela's in Lone Tree.

The incident occurred Aug. 10, two Denver men were arrested late September for the crime. The Department of Justice says the arrests are part of local law enforcement's efforts, working with the ATF and Colorado U.S. Attorney's Office, to address multiple burglaries of gun stores throughout Colorado.

“These are no property crimes.  These are life and death crimes.  Stolen guns go straight into the hands of criminals, not hunters and target shooters,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Bob Troyer.  “The people who bring this violence into our communities will be introduced to federal justice, up close and personal, for a long time.”

ATF Special Agent in Charge Debora Livingston says they will be relentless in investigating these thefts as it is a top priority in Colorado.

The three suspects arrested from the Aug. 10 incident are identified as 23-year old Darnell Hudgens, 21-year Giavanni Edward Miles and 23-year old Kendall Crockett.

Reportedly 10 individuals have been charged for theft of firearms from federal firearms licensees. According to the Department of Justice 400 firearms were stolen in 2017.
