The Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin) Ski area has officially announced it's opening Friday, Oct. 13. The Black Mountain Express lift will start running at 9:00 a.m., giving skiers and snowboarders access to the intermediate High Noon trail.
The weather in Colorado can be unpredictable as snow has already made it's debut around the state, Arapahoe Basin is often one of the first ski areas to open in North America.
“Mother Nature has been kind to the Basin,” said Alan Henceroth, Arapahoe Basin Chief Operating Officer. “It’s exciting to kick off the ski season earlier than usual, and welcome winter back to Colorado.”
A-Basin says they will continue to make snow for the opening, weather permitting.
Skiers can purchase early season lift tickets online at http://tickets.arapahoebasin.com. They can also be purchased at the mountain, the current lift ticket window pricing is said to run through Dec. 15.
Information about season passes and multi-day tickets can be found at http://ArapahoeBasin.com.
